Community & Programming

Abbye Churchill works as a programmer and organizer for exhibitions, lectures, panel discussions, screenings, performances and other occasions to bring people together for organizations like The Ace Hotel, MoMA, and others. At Tokion magazine, she helped create the annual Creativity Now Conference held at Cooper Union in downtown New York.

She was the Director of Cultural Programming for Phaidon Press where she created programming in conjunction with organizations such as Art Los Angeles Contemporary, NADA Miami, Paddle8, the James Beard Foundation, Artis, Esquire, Wallpaper*, Bad Day, eyebeam, Garance Doré Atelier, CONFETTISYSTEM, The Diner Journal, and artists and thinkers including Pipilotti Rist, Shepherd Fairey, James Franco, Olaf Breuning, Mike Mills, Glenn O’Brien, Andy Spade, many others.

She was the co-founder and co-director of Public Access, an artist-run gallery space in Chicago, IL that brought an international roster of artists for monthly rotating exhibitions, artist talks, and screenings in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.
